Our Process

Each of our clients undertakes a six step process in order to maximise your ability to reach your goals.

Understand your current financial situation

As we get to know you, we’ll ask a lot of questions.

Why? Because getting to know everything there is to know about you is essential to providing you with the best possible advice.

When you come to your first appointment, we’ll typically ask you to bring an outline of your financial situation. This will include information such as your income, expenses, assets and liabilities as well as any Superannuation statements or Insurance schedules you may have. If you aren’t able to get this information, we may also ask your permission to make our own enquiries on your behalf.

In doing so, we can make sure all of our advice is completely appropriate for you, and that we leave no stone unturned in our efforts to maximise your ability to reach your goals.

Once we know the facts, it’s on to the next step.

Identify your goals

As part of the process, we’ll be discussing what your financial goals are. That might be as all-encompassing as “Making sure I can maintain my current lifestyle now and forever”, or as straightforward as wanting “To save for my child to go to the school I want them to.” It can range from “I want a Lamborghini” to “I want to invest some money”, trust us, we’ve seen it all.

In providing professional advice, you get the benefit of our years of experience, knowledge of the changing landscape including upcoming legislative, economic and product changes.

Up to this point is always free of charge.

Identify gaps and opportunities

This is our research phase. We’ll take all the information we have, and identify gaps and opportunities for you to get closer to achieving your ambitions and with greater certainty.

We provide you with our Letter of Engagement, which details all our services that we offer and any fees to you.

Provide you with tailored recommendation

Once we have conducted our research and answered any outstanding questions we may have, we will prepare a written Statement of Advice. This comprehensive legal document will outline our recommendations in detail, the implications for you and more.

This document will cover a review of your existing situation, our proposed recommendations and where applicable projections of your future situation. This document will include a full detail of all costs incurred as well as our own fees and charges.

Implement recommendations for you

We don’t just point you in the right direction, we partner with you the whole way through.

The execution of the advice, precisely in line with our recommendations, is a critical role and one that is important that you do not undertake on your own. We will step you through the paperwork required, lodge forms and respond to queries on your behalf (only where appropriate of course). We will make every effort to ensure the implementation process is as simple for you as can be.

Beyond simply ensuring this is done correctly, we are able to provide the benefits and circumvent the problems that can come up that you only get to know with experience. Where applicable, our professional relationships with product providers also help to streamline the process and escalate issues when something inevitably comes up which is out of the ordinary.

Review and revise so you keep on track

Putting a plan in place is a daunting but a very important first step. Keeping to the plan, is often more than just a matter of being diligent.

Sometimes life throws us curve balls and we need to re-evaluate, occasionally governments make changes which move the goal posts and sometimes new options become available which help us get there sooner.

In providing a service of ongoing review, you will always have someone in your corner watching out for you. When things change, our ongoing service will help you to adjust your plan where required and adapt to make the most of the changes.
